Cheers guys. Yeah tbh the xr2 bumpers have grown on me. If a set of base model bumpers come up cheap enough i may still buy them to throw on and have a look to see what i prefer. Can't hurt. :-) Had to roll the arches today, as after about 2 miles the front tyres were pretty shredded. Didn't really wanna do it to the shell as it is a nice one, but needs must and all that jazz Wound the adjusters up on the rears to stiffen them up a bit too, and now the scrubbing is cured :-)

Trial fitted the front splitter today with gaffa tape. Not sitting quite right as it's got studs at the back (so not sat flush against the front valance) But gives a rough idea how it should look if/when I end up fitting it Can't decide at the moment whether to fit it or not, but I think it would look a lot better if fit properly? It sits just above the towing eye too so "hopefully" won't lose it on a speed bump?

I think she looks aggressive enough without the chin spoiler TBH. Less is more and all that ...lovely car though sits perfectly on those wheels. For me this image is plenty, I love it. Agreed - she looks great as she is now!

Hey guys. Been a while (again) since i updated this. Not much happened really. Just been driving and enjoying i suppose. (action shot) Actually had some new rear springs wound thinking about it, and although they had lowered it a bit more at the back (and stiffened the ride somewhat), they still need to be a bit lower, which is annoying. Going to try and take the bump stops out to bring it down another 12mm-ish and see if that does it. For some reason (and apparently this is a common thing with lowered mk2s?) .. the passenger side sits a bit higher than the drivers side. Cant explain this, but its annoying, as one side looks great, and the other not so great? lol Anyway ...Back in december i bought some base model bumpers (the late type with mouldings), and sent them down to a friend so have them painted black (they were red), and have the mouldings removed and the holes welded up (so they looked smooth like the early ones) 4 months later they were finished and on their way. So i thought i'd finally fit that splitter in preparation. I was aware of the fact it might look pap with the XR bumpers, but knew it would be a short term deal so plonked it on anyway. And you know what, i don't think its come out that bad! Actually like it a lot more than i thought it would with those bumpers. Still think it'll look better with the base model ones on though, so looking forward to fitting those next week with any luck Been researching/plotting the next step, which will be brakes and engine upgrade. As getting a little fed up of getting spanked by 65yr olds in their Yaris's on the way to bingo, haha. Anyhow, that'll do for this installment. cheers jonni

Looking good, in my opinion some of the best retro's are the less obvious cars,
I personally prefer the car without the front bumper strip but it's each to there own, either way it's a great retro, much respect!

Cheers mate. Yeah if I keep those bumpers on (which I probably won't) I'll remove the red bump strip.
Keeping it on for now incase I sell the bumpers, as they are worth now with them intact, lol
