Long time, no threads from me! Work, life and FB have kept me from posting much, but I thought I'd stick up a thread from todays little trip out. Despite it being 10yrs old, this is our first visit to Elvetham Heath car show, its not the biggest of shows as its held on the green between the houses on an estate, but some cool stuff rocked up. We hadn't booked, so were directed into the field with a speedboat in! The speedboat! Rather nice Audi and replica GT40 Essential reading matter Identical to the V4 we nearly bought a few years ago.

I was going to say that xj220 was the car of the show as they are flipping awesome, but then I saw that iron mask skyline. True car porn. Good pictures mate.

Hi, I am the guilty party regarding the yellow autotruck at elvetham in the summer. Sadly I also have a green one as well. Cheers, Tom....

Hello velo, It would be too easy and rather non-inclusive to just google your autotruck so I wonder if you could tell us how you acquired them, what they were designed for and how on earth they work?

Hi Wagoneer, About a year ago I was looking for a 'new' toy. I chanced upon the add on fleebay for these. So a trip to a deceased estate in Derbyshire and I had a couple of these to hide at home...A bit of fettling and a quick blow over with the yellowest yellow I could find. Then paperwork to local office for a number plate. insurance is £39 fully comp for any one to drive, Free historic tax, MOT exempt, I don't think you can drive it on a bike licence as it weighs 780Kg! This one has the 811cc twin cylinder engine with two forward and a reverse.7.7H.P. but these are shire horses as it will carry 1000Kg and tow 7000Kg! I think this one was built to carry a specific piece of kit as the bed/back is very special, but listers built 3000+ different bodies from tugs for the railways to factory trucks and yard sweepers. It all got killed off by fork trucks and pallets in the 60's.I hope to be at Elvetham again in 2014 as it's only a 20min drive/ride from home.

Thanks for the info, they are amazing vehicles. Being able to pull 7000Kg is no mean feat! You can understand fork trucks taking over though. We've even got a snow plow attachment for our one at work.

I have just spoken to a work colleuge who knows the owner through a friend of his. As far as he is aware the car is not an original S (one of the give aways being the presence of the rubbing strips down the sides of the body that apparently the true S doesn't have) but has been built up to full S spec with a bit more added power. The rear diffuser was also custom made for it. An awesome car!

Nice thread resurrection. Velo, thanks for the info on the Lister, real workhorse and something very different to be saved and used. Smiler, interesting, Whether real or replica, it was an amazing sight. The show is on my list to pop back to again as its so close to us.
