1999 Ford Escort 1.6 (petrol) 5 door hatchback. Only 80,000 miles showing on clock. Very nice set of aftermarket 15" alloy wheels. Power steering. Central locking. Spoiler. Great runner. MOT and tax expired. I have NOT taken it for a test and all I can see that it will want is a couple of tyres and probably a service. I'm not guaranteeing that it'll pass with just that as I'm not a mechanic. Other than that it wants a bit of a tidy up here and there but at this value it's an absolute bargain. esc front ns use this by Cavlover1, on Flickr esc rear by Cavlover1, on Flickr £150, cash on collection from Chester. If you mail me asking what my bottom/lowest/best price is I'll just think you're a penniless buffoon who's trying to play sellers off against each other. Timewasters: You don't have to buy this car off me and I don't have to sell it to you.

Is it a genuine Motorsport shell as it has the sticker above the screen?? Sorry, couldn't help myself there!!! Looks bloody clean plus if someone only want its for the alloys and a few bits and bobs the scrapman will give you the asking price back after you've stripped the goodies.

Aye, it's about as 'sporty' as a three legged, asthmatic tortoise with a 20 a day habit and it's been nailed to the floor. It'll be getting weighed off on Wednesday I reckon.

Just did the same to a 2000 jeep grand Cherokee, loads of idiots wanting to know if I still had a stamped up service history from jeep!!! £500 was the asking price,i think some people were expecting 12 months tax plus mot for that, plus the usual "its costing me £150 in petrol which i will expect off the asking price" drivel. let it go for £250 scrap plus kept battery, stereo etc. Seems the market for cheapys is shrinking somewhat.

Yeah, plus to be perfectly honest, these Escorts are horrible cars at the best of times. You're dead right of course about the lower (price) end of the market. Too many people expect everything for nothing and have watched too much telly where people constantly chip down the price of something.
That's why you get morons asking for a discount because they live miles away (my answer to this is either find something nearer to home or just offer me my asking price or near enough) and the really annoying 'what's your best/bottom/lowest price?'. Once someone asks you that you automatically know you have a penniless timewaster on your hands because you can bet your bottom quid that if they've asked you they've asked everyone else too and they're trying to play you off. I had a lad (not on here I hasten to add) who despite seeing 'no offers, no delivery' tried three different stupid offers and wanted free delivery. I've bombed him out to the point where he's actually offered me more than the asking price and I've told him if it hasn't sold by the end of the week to bring a gallon of petrol and some matches round, and I'll set fire to it in front of him.
Sorry for the rant, car now sold!
