you can get gps speedos that stick to the screen like a sat nav, they start from about £65 new it just depends on wether you want it in the dash or stuck to the screen. or just use a app on your phone there is plenty of them and get a holder for your phone and put it some where easy to see while your driving.

Yes, depends what you want really. If you just want to know how fast, app on phone or a Sat Nav, if want something much nicer, take a look at Speedhut www.speedhut.com/

Is a GPS speedo MOT compliant though? I think I read somewhere that it wasn't, but I might be wrong. Plus, GPS is inaccurate on hills (where they like to put speed cameras). Swift engined Minis seem to be quite a popular conversion, is there a tried and tested method that others have used? No point re-inventing the wheel if there's a good solution already out there!

Speedhut GPS speedos have altitude compensation, they can also tell you how high you are. Not so good in tunnels on the other hand!

Oddly there's no really solution, some people have used the full swift clocks but I want a standard mini look. Getting a cable made would work but would read wrong. Some people have used push bike computers, others have shelled out for a smith gauge. Speedo isn't required for an MOT

My dad had a converter knocked up when he upgraded the gearbox in his '30s special. He sent his speedo and cable away, along with a few calibration measurements, and they sent it back with a little reduction 'box on the cable. edit: www.speedycables.comJoe
