strange.. this weekend I was going through the boxes I'd left in the shed after we moved and found a few old unfinished models- don't know what happend to my finsihed ones tbh.. gave me the urge to get started on them again.. haven't done any model making since living at home.. so ten years or so then... now I've got my shed sorted might finish the ones I've got and go see if I can find a strada to make might dig out my airbrush as well...

Ooooh! Another model thread Looks good Mat Just one thing though - I'd recommend using Bare metal Foil (BMF) for the chrome as this really adds to the overall effect. I find it very easy to use and buy it from a seller on ebay.co.uk. Costs about £5.50 a sheet but that lasts a surprisingly long time. No pics of anything more recent than the last time, but currently building a Tamiya 1:24 Lotus 7, as driven by Number 6 ;D Very well designed and moulded kit - highly recommended!!!!

T'was originally a 1987 Toyota Carina (by Tamiya) but I decided to 'Boso' it with my own 'scratch built' body kit/flares/wings, oil cooler and fender mirrors. Realise it should really have 'dished wheels'. that is utterly immense, well done. have the same model, i did as much as a silver/yellow fade job and some wires...

As threatened yesterday, i found my ropey attempt at a roof chop. Sadly the doors never would line up but still, it was the thought that counted! Compare it with the ones on the box.

hlj.com is probabily the best place to order kits, they can be a bit pricey and occasionally you will get stung for import tax to the UK - happened to me once..... but they have a good selection.

Hey I made the same C110 model - I'm never happy with the quality though so end up buying die-casts most of the time. And something for a model that I don't think will ever be finished!

I've got some on their way over at the moment, as well as some 1:24 wheels. Scale Hayashis FTW!

Aaahhhh the guilt! Rmad gave me a TA22 brought fresh from J last year, so far I've failed to finish it. Perhaps this is the kick up the rear that I needed. It's awaiting the application of the pearlescent paint and final assembly. In the mean time, here's one I prepared earlier....

Looks promising Mat! Do the big boxy arches that are shown on the R31 fit separately, so it’s no problem to build standard-ish as you’re doing? Might have to hunt one of them down, currently have something on all Skylines from C10 to R33 but no R31.
Having received a batch of 1:24 wheels from Rmad, I spent an hour or so over the weekend undoing boxes and hooking out unbuilt bodies, working out what they’ll suit best and what I can swap around between kits so they’ll all end up with a different look.
I’m getting more and more tempted to ignore my longstanding model projects and just quickly build up some of the Japanese stuff.

The body kit is completly separate, so you can go for standard if you want however you will require some sort of arch extension as the wheel arches have been cut away on the shell to accomodate the bigger wheels and lowness. The wheels on the back are from a rx7 kit so i will have to track down another set of those.
