As the last thread for a Ford Wagon went on here, I've been looking for a running, ready to drive retro wagon for a few months now. The Honda N600's and RX7 thoughts are fleeting...and considerably more work rather than a drivable project to go with the Z. This has just come up for sale down the road from me...for cheap...runs, few rust spots...thoughts? www.flickr.com/photos/warskettdy/with/8696126523/I was thinking of going down a Polestar blue route with some deep dish steels (looks great in my head, not sure how well it would execute). *mind blown with possibilities right now*

Lovely! Yes! Not sure I'm feeling the colour - I can't recall how it looks in the metal but I'd worry about it having that "plasticky" look that some solid 2K paints have on classics. I'll happily be proven wrong though!

A definite yes from me. I've had both a Jensen P1800 and Volvo 1800S and both were wonderful cars. Not out and out sports but rather cruisers. The later 1800ES was always a model I fancied. BTW it's actually a 1800ES and not P1800ES. Only Jensen built versions were "P".

Actually, I'd go ahead and say you can't NOT do it. The 1800ES is a classic among the classics, and I've yet to see one tastefully modified. If you have the possibility to acquire it, you have to. There's no choice to be made here

*paging leigh to the sketch pad, paging leigh to the sketch pad, paging leigh to his sketchpad!* There, fixed that for you. I'm going to say 100% yes to the purchase, I insist on the wheel/suspension mods...but not convinced on the colour. Do the other bits first, live with it like that while considering colour choices. Well, that's how I'd play it anyway. Sorry, but this just has to be said: "Have you bought it yet?"

and I've yet to see one tastefully modified. *this* is the main reason I am thinking 'yup' I was hankering for a Subaru Legacy Twin Turbo B-Spec Wagon but they are rarer than poor quality wobbly children's play pony poop over here, with this 1800 the same price as an equivalent Volvo 245 brick that doesn't need acres of welding.

Check absolutely everywhere for rust / filler / poor repairs. These cars can rot seriously badly, whilst panels are very expensive, and the only ones that unbolt are those that open...

Very pretty cars! Reminds me of Ferrari-shootingbreak things. Ferrari-red with some Italian wheels...
