So finally after a few months of mayhem I'm back on with the 205 restoration , more bits and pieces from the engine has had a freshen up Calipers , hubs , air flow meter ,alternator etc Top and bottom engine mounts Sump And of course the engine itself has seen some love . A few more bits to sprouse up , got bay being welded up and painted shortly all being well .

So I did a few more bits today , decided to give chrome paint a whirl , not stunning by any means but not to bad rocker cover looks nice and clean Took off the sad and distributor and gave them a quick once over Gave the master cyclinder housing a quick blast And also gearbox

So time to update , a change of plan meant that I had to paint the engine bay first and put the engine back in and then move it to another location for the shell painting . So the car had be left for a few months without being touched and was a sorry sight . But managed to get things moving with abit of rust killing Then gave the bay it's final clean up and removed the subframe and got the usual nasty inner wing rot cut out and welded up Masked up ready to go And then a few coats of high build primer Then a stunning alpine white After this is was time to pop a few things back in and I treated her to a full set of brake lines for the engine bay Engine back in Then she was moved to a new location and it was time to start the body prep . Main bad rusty was the usual rear quarter to sill issue , mine made worse by some idiot cutting out the rear arch at some point in its life and it was flimsy and bent near the wheel but I dug out all the sealant and the rust and made a start . Using an expense flexible fibreglass and the. Filler I clean it up . And then for safety a dazzled abit of rust kill over it before high build priming just for extra protection There was more things to contend with but she's currently sat in primer and half flatted down will update once painted in a few days time here are pics as she is now

Ok so abit of progress today. I started with a few bits that just needed a quick freshen up , when the car was sprayed red quite a few things ended up with overspray on them so anything that has any red on needs to be sorted , first up it was the fan housing , had quite abit of red on it aswel as dirt and just general ageing . But after a good clean as some quick fire black it was looking a lot better A few more items got a quick once over , (headlight holders , horn , sunroof vacuum box) Rattle tins away now it was time to move on to the proper stuff , so slam panel , bonnet hinges , bonnet stay and bumper brackets all seeing some treatment So this is the slam panel before After some primer And then some alpine white looking very nice And here are the rest So that was a start on the niggly bits a few more bits that need to be a high gloss black before I move onto the rest of the panels and side trim etc . The few bits that where just quickly blasted back where dry so brought them home tonight and fitted them Still got to fit fans but need some new jubilee clips for the rad hoses so will grab them and fully fit etc .

More efforts today, the grill and passenger wing got the maker over and are now white . As they were And now Also took the recent gloss black items home . And gave the scuttle panel and wiper arms a (test fit) Also finished the side badges with a refresh kit but on gloss black rather than the old grey style plastic.
