Hey folks,
I've got a friend coming over from Japan and he is around on 21st September and looking for some car related action. Thing is there isn't a load of things on. So I figured maybe we'd do our own thing. I've been floating the idea of a Saturday meeting in Hype Park for a long time, I'm not sure how it would work having never parked or driven in Hyde Park.
Any thoughts, ideas, anyone up for it??

Could be worth going to some popular car sites around london too (graffiti tunnel, etc etc etc)

I'm up for a meet But what about doing it at the Chelsea Cruise which falls on the 28th ? That way if there is a shortfall of attendees there will at least be something to look at!

Hey folks.. all fine suggestions and I've been planning to sort a more regular London meet. The 21st is the only date he can manage, he is in London for meets for a few days and then flys back to Japan on 22nd.
Has anyone driven in/parking in Hyde Park before??

I'm up for coming along.
Driven Hyde Park before but it was Boxing Day and so less traffic. What about Richmond Park? There are a few car parking areas dotted around and a cruise around the park could be cool?

I am up for a meet up anyway, either location - gives me a date to work to get some bits sorted!

i'd be up for getting involved
hyde park corner / park lane etc is a nasty place to be in a car, only once accidentally drove through the park myself though
sticking with the park theme - somewhere further out might be better - Battersea park does have car park (sometimes used on the Chelsea cruise), Southwark park has a fair bit of parking, Greenwich too, Crystal palace maybe?
ace café might be an idea - it's ford sierra owners in the morning but I guess it's open to other cars in the afternoon?

I don't know if you would just get moved on in the London parks?!? You would probably need to speak to the council/park security.
If you wanted to go a bit further west I'm sure somewhere like the Ace Cafe would be receptive, so long as it doesnt clash with another meet there

Battersea park is a good idea, plenty of parking, toilets etc.... plus they seem to except an influx of cars (ie. chelsea cruise).
Also if your organising anything in London on a Saturday it would have to be the evening as traffic will be murder in the daytime, plus lots of people work! And then you have a problem of running out of daylight and parks closing at dusk etc....

There's loads of room in Richmond Park. I honestly doubt there would be an issue with a few old cars rocking up there. I live right next to it (me? biased?) and I don't think that anyone would even notice. I doubt we'll be there in our hundreds. There's also the added bonus of coffee stalls.

Okay Richmond Park sounds good to me.. it is relatively well connected due to the A3, we could even take a little cruise down to Krispy Kreme . Right thats it Richmond Park Saturday 21st September ... Retro Rides Vs. The Deer. It. Is. On.

Japshow is on the 28/29th if he can hold out I'm sure he'll love travelling halfway around the planet to see examples of cars that he can see better versions of at home.
