Hi, looking for some advice on clutches. I noticed today that I was getting a little bit of clutch slip on some gear changes while 'pressing on' also noticed a bit of slipping when turning on the overdrive while accelerating. So this has sent a few questions rattling around my head...
I'm assuming this means that my clutch is getting towards the end of its life?
Roughly how much more life can I expect out of it? (I appreciate this is a hard thing to estimate)
From what I've read, its an engine out job, or could it be done by just dropping the gearbox?
Has anyone on here changed a clutch in an MGB? How much should I be expecting to pay a garage to do the work? I've seen some prices quoted but they were mostly in the US so don't know how those would compare to prices here
Also should I be looking for a full 'clutch kit' to be fitted? I've noticed there's a couple of new old stock friction plates on ebay for not much, are they cheap because they're not much good on their own?
