Had one myself Bought it as a pickup conversion: And I was soon playing about with the pictures..... Just a shame the conversion was utter turd, and the car was a deathtrap I got fed up of the 20mpg too, so threw in a rwd 2.1XUD Lots of potential... but also lots of potential to go badly wrong (fibreglass is a git to work with in this form!)

How so? It's only CSM and resin. I hope my own project will be proof that a Scimitar can be made Pro-Touring. That Interceptor ticks the boxes for stripped-back styling. See how much the front airdam and vents look like a Scimitar?

I always enjoyed your scimmy build chairchild, was a shame it had to go. I too have been unable to go for one because of the lack of MPG's, for a cheap to run option though, would a 2.0 twincam from a seirra fit in without massive work?

I seem to remember an unfinished Sim with a BOA cosworth in it ! I don't think it got finished but it didn't look like to much of a Beatch to fit ? an't they a V6 essex anyway ? and the BOA is closer to 30MPG on paper ! Guess that will be down to how you drive it tho ? Lots of FF6 potential ! Dave

[quote author=" devilishdesigner" source="/post/1830778/thread" timestamp="137765667I reall. the idea of a Scimitar version. Taking a close look at the FF Jensen I am quite disappointed by the quality of the build up close. The panel creases look wobbly, the bonnet is rusty, you can see bog in front of the bonnet in the corner and chips that have been painted over lower down. Good thing I imagine it spends most of the movie going fast There was definitely more than one used in the film hopefully they had a better one for the clowe ups!!.I was driving up the M42 months and months ago and there was a car transporter with 3 or 4 maroon superbirds and 2 or 3 interceptors heading the other way. Thought what the he'll at the time, then months after I saw the trailer for FF and it fell into place. [/quote] I 100% agree, the stills show some pretty shoddy quality, but then again that is why it is Hollywood. On the race track we talk about the 30/30 rule 30 foot at 30mph, this is more 60/60

Contrary to popular opinion, I do have mechanical sympathy, I always feel sorry for the cars I drive.

Loving the Interceptor on FF. I think the Scimitar would definitely work. They don't seem to get V8's much though do they? I reckon one with a TVR lump and low on a big set of Torque Thrusts would look the dogs doodads! Kev at PPC mag is messing around with one at the moment. He wanted to put a Jag V8 in his but is aparently having space constraints on the width. Is the engine bay particularly narrow? I wonder if a Bimmer Staight 6 would fit...

I wonder if a Bimmer Staight 6 would fit... There's one buried in the bowels of the Readers Rides somewhere sporting a 6 cylinder TDS lump, so you can definitely squeeze a six pot in there... Edit: RR search function success shocker!Joe

Saw this (Triumph Stag - Tickford Edition) on a thread elsewhere in RR and thought it fitting. Just needs bigger rims.

Good thinking. This is what I first thought of. Saw a black one of those at Crystal Palace earlier this year. Beast. That is how MGs should have left the factory. Sent from my GT-I9300 using proboards

Back on topic.... Am I the only one who noticed....? The interceptor is an English car, with most of it's scenes filmed in the UK. Yet, the Jensen is LHD! Stoopid yanks. I love these cars sooo much, I named my son Jensen. Shame I have to correct people. They think I he was named after the bloody F1 driver. Stooges.
