Thought for a while that the V40 could be easily made into a looker (comparatively!). Especially with the Japanese PCD. Way more appealing than the usual Passat routine... And here's a mental S40 I spotted at Gatebil a few years ago:

No, I believe you are correct on this, modern Volvos are all 5x108. A hang-up from the Ford partnership I'm sure. 5-stud Volvos have been 5x108 since they went boxy (140/240 etc). I believe the use of 5x108 by Ford is because of Volvo rather than the other way round. European five stud Fords were 5x112 until then.

The S-V40 are on a Mitsu floorpan only, the bodies are different, so I doubt that a Carisma front end would be a straight fit...

Amazing what wheels and stance can do for any car. V40 looks great. Makes me wonder what a 3 door v40 would look like. Photo shop skills needed. Anyone?

I like S/V40's. They're a very handsome car. Pretty sure they use VAG 1.9TDI engines as well.
They can be converted to 5x114.3 by using FTO hubs, opens up even more wheels!!
