Approx 3' of 1" x 1" steel box section. Manchester/Bolton

I want to make a subframe brace for my Saab GM900 and need about 3 feet of steel to do it. I'm thinking 1" x 1" but a bit smaller would do, as would aluminium. Reasonably thick flat bar or even round steel tube would also do the trick quite nicely.

If you've got something along those lines in your shed going spare, please let me know.

Alternatively, if you know anywhere in Manchester or Bolton who supply small quantities like this, let me know that too. Everywhere I've found either wants to supply ten times what I need or charges more for postage than the metal itself.

There is a steel stockholder in Swinton/walkden but I can't remember the name of the firm,just off the A6 near to the ellesmere centre at walkden.
I have gone to small engineering shops before now and asked for off cuts.
I think K steels has moved from Bridgeman street to rossendale but may be worth giving them a ring.
