Sounds like this guy got lucky with a minter and then ruined it.

Knocking bottom end aka he's ragged the tits off it. 'Bonnet was damaged' aka 'I crashed it'. etc

Still worth sorting out though I think!

I think ruined is too strong a word though .

Many people in the Ford scene would approve of his mods (Cosworth wheels and 3 spoke steering wheel). You only have to look at the Passionford threads regarding the Wheeler Dealers Sapphire Cosworth, where almost all of them slated WD for returning the car to standard, and ruining the car by removing them.

Maybe because I am one of the traditionalists with the hot hatches, but some stock wheels (which he is selling the car with), a small drop along with ensuring the engine is working well along with teasing out a few more horses from the engine (although this may already have been done.

It does look quite clean for one of these though!

I'm not criticising his mods, quite the opposite actually. The Escort Cossie wheels suit in my opinion.

My point was that it sounds like he's crashed (bonnet), scraped (bumper marks), and generally thrashed the curse word (knocking bottom end) out of what was quite a mint car.
