Putting the Lada up for sale due to a dramatic change of circumstances. (now homeless and single, but I'll survive!)
Anyway, it is a Lada 1300 select with mot till march and tax till november. It has recently had an engine swap and this has gone well. The carburetor is a recon weber, but is jetted all wrong leading to some interesting characteristics. I don't have the time to sort this, so I'll leave it to the new owner. There is also some welding issues, which i will try to sort. The price is £700 with the welding done. I'll sort some pictures asap.

Yo Panda! I'm gonna give you (and any other sellers) a tip, its not a dig or owt so please don't be offended. The tip is, you seem to be selling this car with the 'welding issues' sorted out. Therefore theres no need to tell potential buyers that its got welding issues. Now the first thing that any potential buyer is going to be interested in is whether or not the welding issues have been sorted and to what standard. You've planted a seed of doubt in a buyers head then said 'don't worry about that though i'm sorting it'. If you are happy that you can get them sorted to a decent standard, then they are not an issue are they. any 22 year old Lada is likely to have had some rust issues at some point in its life so if you are getting these ones sorted then theres no need to alarm buyers by telling them its got a problem that it will not have when they buy it.
Doing that is not the same as covering up some hidden issue, its just a case of not immediately putting yourself on the back foot when selling.
No doubt someone will be along shortly to tell us that I am advocating misleading buyers, but they are wrong. Anyway carry on!

Fair point, will bear it in mind. It is just that anyone who has seen my thread on it will already know about the rust.

True point. I did want to give the option of selling as is. If someone wanted to do it properly, the replacement floor sections are available.

I always think of putting things like that - 'has wheel bearing fault, but will fix before sale' was in my last ad. Always wonder if I should put that type of thing?

I can never understand why people do that sort of thing. ‘MOT runs out in a fortnight but will put a new one on before sale’ just sounds like hassle and conjures up images of hurriedly cobbling it through the test so you can offload it onto some unlucky sap, whereas simply ‘full 12 months MOT’ sounds like a good selling point. Anything where you say ‘has XYZ problems but will fix before sale’ is shooting yourself in the foot from the start.

But 'things that aren't fixed but will be by the time any sale goes through' are exactly the same as 'things that have already been fixed', as far as any buyer is concerned.
