great progress. Rear end looks darn good. Think she'll keep cool enough with half the rad covered up? Yeah I'm really pleased with how the rear end looks, which i cant take credit for as my dad did most the work on the rear. If it wasnt for my dad who is a awesome panel beater none of this build would have happened, so I'm very lucky to have him helping me. As for cooling i still have the two vents on the bottom of the valance where it goes back in, so shouldent be to bad hopefully. Wont find out till summer rolls back around i guess!

Update.. Car is now in primer and just needs a few spots on the front end finishing, a bit of flatting around the engine and wet flatting so it should be painted sometime tomorrow Will grab a few photos of it tomorrow as i the only one i got is curse word and before the 2nd coat of primer. Also found a full recaro interior for sale local and have agreed to go pick it up tomorrow evening. It looks decent in the photos with only a bit of wear on the driver seat bolster, guess ill find out tomorrow!

Big update time! Got the headlights all cleaned up, painted and rebuilt. Also got a wire wheel out on the bonnet catch and latch bits so they look pretty shiney, might paint them black though when i get some more paint. After scratching my head for a while trying to figure out what to do about the indicators i debated putting them in the front valance, grill or in the headlight bezels. Found these cool little led indicators on ebay for around £10 and stuck them in with the headlights. They look the part to me as there quite small and match the headlights. The car has now been painted and I'm really pleased with how it came out. Still needs a flat and mop but proper stoked on it! The colour is hard to capture on a phone as its really pearly with a bit of metallic in there too, will defiantly get some proper photos when i roll it out in the sun. Just need to paint around the engine as we decided it would be eaiser to do it after, and a few things like the grill & mirrors ect. When thats done i can crack on and the door cards, engine bits, and a few mot things sorted and get it a ticket and tax! Cant wait to take it for a drive and make sure everythings good, then i can lower it and start tidying up a few bits on the engine/interior.

Car looks great but if i remember right a lot of the cooling for the radiator came through the front valance and very little through the grill, keep an eye on engine temperatures and keep up the good work.

What a stunning colour! Really suits the shape of the Capri. As for the front valance, you could always use a hole cutter to cut a line of horizontal holes to feed the air back in. Would look a bit different to the norm.

I was quite undecided on the colour but I'm really glad i went with it now, it looks even better in person! In regards to the cooling issue if it cause's any problems i was thinking about either a better/bigger rad or a proper electric fan on the rad.. Maybe both! I could also channel the air from the the holes in the valance towards the rad better by making some air guides/channels of some sort. Will have to wait and see

Think its about time i updated this! Alots happened so ill give you a quick run down.. Cars on the road and flew threw mot with no advisories.. Happy days! After some faffing about i finally got the electronic ignition working, capris run a ballast type coil on 9v but the ignition pick up needed a full 12v feed to work so that was why i wasnt getting a spark haha. New waterpump fitted due to old one leaking, New temp sender as the gauge wasnt working, new lucas sports coil and 8mm silicone plug leads from accuspark fitted. Fuel sender had cracked and was leaking from one of the pipe outlets, cleaned it all up and put some chemical metal on there for now which has worked well, Will have to get hold of one in the future. Fuel gauge is a bit tempermental resulting in me running out of fuel twice, seem to have got the knack of knowing when to fill up now though! Stripped, cleaned and rebuilt the carb yesterday with help from my dad, now running alot smoother and seems to have more power/low end grunt. Over the last week i have had some issues with the indicators and hazard switch, lighting up but no flashing and just being a PITA really. Seem to be getting a bit of water in the footwells so will have to have a poke around and see whats up with that, Must be whats messing around with the flasher relay. Overall though its been great and i really am enjoying driving this about. Plans for future are to just work through the various bits i havent done yet such as interior, suspension, exhaust, engine bay parts ect now its on the road. Expect another update soon!

That looks stunning, that really does look spot on!
If I was to offer any kind of comments then I'd say that it would be good to get some kind of venting into that front valance... Not just to help with engine cooling but just to break it up a bit, I am sure an interestingly subtle 'design' can be thought of to put in/on there?!
That really is all I can think of (and that is just a personal preference thing rather than a jab to the stomach as it were!), you've really nailed this Capri!

Wow, that's looking really good mate. Love the colour. Some 7.5" x-pack 4 spokes would look amazing on that I reckon

A set of the wider Ronal wheels would make that epic. I love the colour.
I would seriously consider some ventilation in the front bumper. Ford made a big thing about the aerodynamic design of the grille in the 80's but that was a dual purpose thing. By removing so many vents you have most certainly decreased the cool air flow.
For my humble opinion I would say you have smoothed it almost too much. Look for something subtle to open up that front panel again.
