Oer bargain! I heard from my OPC - the wiring loom I ordered is now NLA... pants... So I made one this evening! It's a little longer as I plan to route it differently to avoid the baking from the exhaust manifold. It's covered in a thermaprotect sleeve for added protection. Also received a new steering wheel to replace the Mountney one in the car - I ideally need a brown one tho:

I *might have a brown one at work. We broke a mint gold with brown 924, not sure what's left. I know we have the shell and panels.

Hi delux, only just seen your reply about front seats. All I have is immaculate brown pascha fronts unfortunately wih matching doorcards. Rear swab was damaged in storage but could probably be repaired. Got all the niggly bits of trim though incase your missing any.

Found my other two spoke wheel with the Porsche badge: Kinda cool I think. Spent some time on the car this week - fitted the newly made battery to alternator/starter wiring harness. I routed it down under the brake booster and then under the back of the sump. Access with the cross member and alternator off is excellent so it took a matter of minutes to fit. Cleaned up the underside of the engine too as it was mucky, so too were the wheel wells - nice & clean now. After wire brushing the knuckles and steering rack, it was time to paint. I decided to use Hammered effect paint as the it would work better with the rough surface - I'm happy with the results: Then it was time for the brake calipers: Then it was time to collect some bolts from my OPC Just waiting on the powdercoater now.

Today was a fun time in the garage! This is the part I probably love the most. Unwrapping nice colourful bits and fitting new parts. Porsche purists will look away now...you may not like my seventies love child. The freshly blasted & powder coated cross member - fitted back on along with the refreshed steering rack: Then the new tie rod ends - same as VW Golf MK1: The time for some colour accents in my seventies theme - the water pump pulley and alternator duct in purple: And then the coupe de grace - the new cam cover and belt cover to round off the top of the engine! I love the way the orange and black work together with the hint of purple. Looks just like I imagined it. Uber Stoked! Febi Bilstein Golf MK1 wishbones with Bugpack poly bushes fitted - and yes the castor mount is purple dude! Next up were the shocks! Blasted and powdered struts with SPAX adjustable dampers and lowering springs: All assembled: Used adhesive draft foam tape to make up the top mount - body seal: Then fitted to the car! Stripped off a few other mangy engine bits and gave them a wire brush and lick of paint so they can dry over night too. All in all a good day for Goldie Hawn. Just the new injector seals to fit tomorrow and hopefully she'll purr like a kitten.

Great to see the engine detailing. That looks lovely. It is probably also the first 924 I have seen with a cambelt cover present!

Thanks Chas.
This afternoon I pulled the starter motor and after running some tests on the bench determined it's dead. I tested the solenoid and the motor - got no response on either...

I decided to bite the bullet and buy a new starter motor! A genuine BOSCH remanufactured one for £112 is a snip! It didn't take long to install it, connect up the wires, fit the battery and then.... with much excitement.... She's alive! Woop woop Goldie Hawn rides again! I let the motor run for a while and the idle became smoother and smoother. First few moments under throttle were a little spluttery but after that - she's was purring. I reckon maybe a little tuneup and she's be a bottle rocket. So with that major milestone the last thing to do was fit the anti roll bar in all it's colourful anti-purist glory. When I sent all the bits off to powder coat I hadn't realised just how mangled the ARB mounts were... thankfully I had a spare set from TheHoff: First - the bushings were warmed in boiling water; then inserted into the mount; pressed in the vice and seated nicely: Then the inner bushes and mounts: Then fitted to the underside of Goldie Hawn: And, yes, it was wet and blustery under the carport but spirits were high! I shall drive tastefully knowing that the underside is rather distastefully seventies! Now to sort the interior...

Thanks guys I appreciate the feedback! I've now started to tackle the interior - as I collected her: I'm currently waiting on a new dash so I decided to sort the seats out first. The rails don't work on either - the handles underneath are rusted solid.. Stripped me out: Found £4 25p in change Then on to the work bench for some DW40 soaking on the fused bits. I was surprised to find more than one bolt missing... While the DW40 is doing its work I thought I'd reattach at least one wing mirror - but the seals are so brittle! Thankfully Porsche still have new ones for a couple of pounds. Need to think about what to do about the front seats. I'm not sure they can be repaired - the seat base fabric has separated from the leatherette bolster. Mmmmmm I wonder
