So anyone been thinking of using a body on frame style chassis and running gear of a more modern car and chucking a retro shell over it? Pics, legalities, etc. like the idea of a landrover chassis and running gear dropped with a channeled retro/classic body

The Vitara chassis is probably better than Land Rover. IFS so easy to remove diff / driveshafts and do an engine change to just RWD. Then lower to create a more car like ride height. When I had one I had a good look underneath and reckon it's be a viable base.

That sounds good Paul.
Is there any cars been modified onto new chassis? Pics?

Possibly ignorant question: Is this the way, or one possible way, that you get the 4x4 lifted Ford Kas and suchlike?

Ooh, I can play... Volvo C202 slowly being grafted onto Toyota Dyna platform. It's a bit further on than this now, but still a long way off seeing the road again! There's a Tempo Matador kicking around which is on the same running gear too. Joe

Wasn't BiAS putting a civic over a vitara chassis and doing a rather splendid job of it.

Scimitar chassis is already standard car ride height and ford engine so could be a easy body swap for a cool shell :-)

The same guy that built that also swapped another body onto a saxo 'chassis' not entirely sure how legal it is in terms of registration, but the standard of work was unreal..... Ive been wondering about my work truck (2wd ford ranger) and a 1950 F100 pick up body... the qwheel base is only about 1" out from what i remember..... because i need another project.....

Slightly weird X19 on a Chevy S10 Chassis If it was like my X19, they probably done it due to terminal rot.
