For sale is our 1989 Miata Eunos Roadster 1.6 that has covered 117000km / 73000m , Has 6-7 months MOT and tax till the end of this month.
Being a Miata the car comes with air con and power steering as standard!
The car was imported to this country and registered on 13/06/2000 by an Import specialist with a mileage of 100359km and was sold a couple of weeks later for £5500 to a family members colleague at work who owned it for 13 years and only covered 15000km as a result of only driving it occasionally on the weekends in the summer. Throughout the rest of the year the car was garaged. Apart from having its annual service the only work performed to the car by this owner was having brand new standard suspension fitted all round as well as 4 wheel alignment done in 2009 which i have receipts for. Apparently this was due to the car having after market lowered suspension fitted when it came into the country and as the owner developed a back problem the ride was a bit too firm for them. They kept every old MOT certificate from 2000-2010 bar one. There aren't any from 2010-2012 as the car was off road and garaged during this period.
Early this year I bought the car for my wife without any MOT or TAX. I took it straight to the MOT station to have it tested. It failed on all 4 tyres being perished from having been sat up for 2 years and parking brake efficiency which turned out to be rectified by an adjustment at the rear callipers. Rather than replacing all 4 tyres I decided to get some after market 17 " dished alloy wheels with very good tyres to replace them which look great from a few feet-this is something that I've come to regret as up close the wheels have various superficial damage to them-rim dents, curb damage etc. so cosmetically they let the car down a bit, also the ride is much harder and it doesn't handle as well as it did with the original wheels which I Unfortunately sold. Once the car passed the MOT we changed the engine oil and filter and gave the car a really good clean/polish and was amazed at how good a condition this 24 year old car was! Not a spot of rust and no visible dents, major scratches etc.
Inside the car was in the same condition- the only damage was a small part of the drivers interior door release handle being broken which doesn't effect the operation of opening/closing the door. The car even has the original roadster floor mats and spare wheel/jack kit etc!
As well as a black soft top that is in very good condition apart from the usual rear plastic window being misty, the car comes with a hard top as seen in the pics-this is in good structural condition but the paint job isn't great and it has a few stone chips.
The car is totally standard bar the following modifications- Momo steering wheel and full stainless steel exhaust system from manifold to back box inc sports cat - i think its kakimoto.
Apart from the usual age related stuff like interior plastics creaking when going over bumps, windows being a bit lazy going up and down etc and very minor paint blemishes this car is in great condition!
Unfortunately we are having to sell the car due to my wife relocating jobs and she needs a more practical/economical diesel car although we haven't decided what to get yet so aren't interested in any p/x or swaps.
Ideally with a set of decent wheels and a good paint job on the hard top this car would make a really nice classic!
