Bought this not so long ago with the intention of getting it back up to a fairly decent standard to use daily and as much as I have tried, I cannot resist the urge to buy another CL500 so this will have to go to make way for it.
First things first, this is not a concours example and as such, will not command the prices that mint examples with full history go for. This is more suited to somebody who want's to perhaps use it as an everyday car and not worry excessively about where it is parked etc.
There is almost no history with it, it seems to have been off the road for about 4 years from 08-12 and at some point has had a respray so one would assume it was done during this period. The mileage has also decreased during this period to the tune of around 10k miles.
Although it has been painted the passenger door is terrible and as such, I will be replacing this before I commit to a sale. The rest is fairly presentable.
I bought this with a smoking issue and whilst it is currently unresolved, it will be before being offered fully for sale. I have so far fitted new valve stem oil seals and am currently awaiting a turbo which will hopefully cause the excess smoking.
It has also just had a cambelt kit fitted along with a full oil service and new plugs.
The front suspension has also just been overhauled with unknown shocks and spax springs as the front was just too low and knocked due to cut springs. The rear is still fitted with gaz coil overs.
I have bought and fitted new genuine amber lights all round as I much prefer the look of these when standard and I am still on the hunt for a set of replacement green side mouldings.
Interior is in pretty good order and has boost and water temp gauges fitted and i have just purchased a period standard ford radio.
All tyres are matching firestones and the wheels are in good condition.
There is an uprated actuator fitted along with a set of beige injectors and also a powerchip. Also has full stainless exhaust with a 4" outwardly rolled tip. Green samco boost hoses and an alloy intercooler complete the engine bay. Recent rolling road of 161 bhp.
Also in the pictures you will notice that the drivers foglight assembly is missing, this will be fitted before any sale.
I am hoping to have the car ready in the next week or two and it will be complete with mot until August 2014 and tax until February 2014.
The price for this will be 2999 ovno which I think is about right for the condition/lack of history.
