yep, that is a crime. Selling a car with an ID that does not belong to it is a crime. It is fraud as you are selling a vehicle that it is not. The ID belongs to the car back in the scrapyard that it was taken from. The whole reason people buy IDs is to get around Q plates and VIC checks.
Yes, as I've unwittingly bought a rung vehicle in the past I ended up without transport and something I couldn't use as it was no longer road legal. I know how much hassle it is to have a car that doesn't match the V5 and it does worry me that people really don't care if somebody has to go through this.
It seems to come it fits and stats depending on their resources, they tend to focus on 4X4s but I thought it best to point this out to the seller as he is opening himself up a bit with his ad. Again, from my experience they would be more interested in the breaker who sold the shell and ID.
Indeed as they know what they are buying but the problem comes when they sell it on.
Apologies to Coreyxr4i, maybe this isn't the best place to discuss this.

All I'm trying to do is sell my stuff which is lying around as I've got other projects which need my attention, like I said it's all there for sale if anyone wants it, once the new buyer has got shell and I'd it came with then they can do what ever they want with it.
£350 even for it to be used on track is a bargain. But it maybe chopped up and sold for inner wings etc

If you've no interest in buying what's advertised then I'd ask you don't post any further.
Right or wrong, the seller doesn't appear to be hiding anything - it's up to the buyer what they're ok with.

Only crime here is the seller was too honest, should have PM'd details to interested parties Hope someone saves the Manta
