Anyone know of a Duel Speaker set or something that could replace the one speaker in my Escort mk3? I still want to keep the cassette player but with it not being a full stereo channel it distorts the tiny speaker when loud... I've thought about putting them down by the doors but i think it might sound a bit curse word coming from down there (plus cant get the speaker covers) and i don't want to cut the parcel shelf. anyone doen this? ![](http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e161/whippet2/image_zpsfb7d16ce.jpg) Chris

I'd look into some custom made speaker pods. If your handy with a jigsaw and MDF you could knock some up. Good spots are by the doors, where you said and I've seen pods which fit on the dash by the corners of the windscreen in larger cars. If you have them down by the doors, go for components.
When I used to have Minis, there were plenty of downloadable blueprints for centre consoles and speaker pods. I've mounted speakers in centre consoles in the past.

On my G reg Renault 21 Savanna it had one dual speaker in the middle of the dash and two tiny ones at corners.

mk4 escort kick panel speaker pods will look fine in a mk3, I did this years ago and then put two [lh,rh] tweeters behind the original single speaker cover on top centre of dash
