i have two very strong childhood links to cars, the 1st was a book called "Speedy at the seaside" a mini with a ford anglia friend.

James Bond went all Swedish in the early 1980's and was assigned a special Saab Turbo in the novels... I am sure these were made into graphic novels also but I cannot be 100% certain!

No love for Ogri? Doesn't get more classic than his long-suffering Norvin "Armageddon" (Norton featherbed frame with a Vincent Black Shadow engine). As drawn by Paul Sample, comic artist par excellence, cover artist of all those Tom Sharpe books, and for those who are old enough to remember O-level French, Pierre et his magique bonbons...

The Joe Barr Team has already made an appearance here, but bears repeating. Excellent French cartoon late 70s era bikes (Honda 400/4, Ducati Desmo, Moto Guzzi leMans IIRC and a Norton was it? Can't remember now. Might have been a stroker Kwak triple actually). Brilliant art in the style of the Asterix cartoons









Delightfully odd, often incomprehensible and antipodean Fred Gassit (the bike-riding dingo). Brilliant not-quite swearing throughout (yah fahn cahn, niiiiiiice quedge on ya, lady, etc)

Absolutely. I've always loved the attention to detail on the vehicles in Tintin; Hergé drew all the cars, planes and even boats with incredible care.
Some books were even updated when they were re-released which is a really nice touch.

yeah, skid solo was a F1 driver, but martins marvellous mini was like "real street life" two guys just trying to keep their mini going on a shoestring budget
