Due to me wanting to scratch the 16v itch, my tidy driver is up for sale now. I bought this to bob about in while I stripped my GTI for parts, so not had it long. I'm only the 4th owner.
12 months MOT
6 months tax
Only 108k
The previous owner spent a LOT on this last summer, I have receipts for around £1600 spent on;
Brand new manual choke weber conversion fitted
New brakes all round including rear cylinders
Top end rebuild, stem seals etc
Alternator, probably more stuff I forget without digging the folder out.
It was an auto, and while it still ran perfect, for me it made sense (as I had all the parts from the GTI) for value and sellability last weekend I converted it to manual.
Amongst those parts was a complete brand new linkage kit, the gearchange is nice and tight.
Its pretty standard, only mods are 16v rear lights, heko wind deflectors, G60 centre caps, and some shiny wolfsburg bits inside. It has central locking and PAS.
This is my 15th mk2 (yes I have a problem) and its one of the best. No rust and drives superbly. Its red underneath and very clean.
Nearly new pioneer head unit with 3.5mm jack input and USB. 6x9s in the shelf and I have an uncut shelf too.
It has an uprated headlight loom which I made up, running 2 relays for safety.
Recent bosch silver top battery.
One key fits all. (well I have 2 keys)
Now some bad bits, its 24 years old and not a 2 grand car, and its tornado red. The paintwork isn't amazing.
Has some light scratches here and there, small dents, most notably on the rear panel. The bumper has taken the brunt of the damage and is pushed in. No structural damage and you're welcome to inspect it at your leisure. Shame though as it has new heritage red stripe bumpers.
Missing headliner.
Missing rear wiper. I find this profusely irritating this time of year.
Has a brand new front lower valance which is still in the black coating. I have bought paint for that, just not had chance to paint it.
Obviously its sporting a not so sporty standard height. Its very comfy and smooth, if this isn't your thing, I could work some coilovers into the deal.
Anyway, have some rubbish pictures. I plan to clean, polish and wax it this weekend and get some good photos.
Please note in the pics it has a red stripe grille on, I have since fitted a brand new heritage standard 4 lamp grille. Also, the roof bars aren't for sale. The dent in the lower NS corner has been pushed out to the best of my ability.
Because I fail at having current interior pics, here's one during the pedal box swap.
So, there we go, I'l probably get no interest until I have decent pics as it is, but then I'm in no rush to shift it. I have a work van and barely use it. the other issue I have is owning is since the middle of December I haven't yet received the logbook, the PO assures me its been sent, I shall be chasing the DVLA tomorrow. If that proves unsuccessful I may then apply for one with the green slip. rather annoying but we'l see how that pans out.
I want £1100ovno for this, I doubt you'l find a more honest and mechanically sound one with this mileage for less.
I'm in Lincoln too. Come have a butchers
