Hi All,
My wife is after a smaller car. She's been using my E36 touring for the last year or so, but has a new job starting soon which involves visiting out and about so could do with something smaller really.
Anyone got anything suitable they fancy swapping? I don't really want to part with the E36 as it's been great and I've really looked after it, but realistically it's surplus to requirements as I have a few other vehicles.
My wife particularly likes MINIs, but would probably go for anything small and economical, petrol or diesel, assuming it meets her 'not curse word' criteria. Something like a Polo, Golf, Yaris, Swift, C1, 107 maybe? Probably up to about 10 years old?
BMW is as follows:
1996 E36 328i touring
Auto (5 speed with sports & snow modes)
Just MOT'd last week so full 12 months
Tax 'til end of June.
111k miles
Full leather
Dual zone climate control, works perfectly
4x electric windows
Electric mirrors
Remote central locking
Rear parking sensors
Auto dim rear view mirror
Trip computer
Boot liner, genuine BMW metal dog guard
Several sets of wheels:
1. 15in winter E46 alloys, currently on the car. Rear Yoko W-drive winter tyres brand new Oct '13, front Dunlop winter response fitted new last weekend before discussions regarding changing car!
195/65/15 all round. Pics below.
2. Original 10 spoke 16in wheels (x4), excellent condition but tyres pretty worn out. Pic below.
3. Spare set of 10 spoke wheels (x5), not quite as good condition but two with brand new Toyo summer tyres, three with worn misc. tyres.
I bought it in Aug 2010. In my ownership I've replaced all brake discs, pads, fluid, changed oil, filter etc. every 6k miles, replaced air-con condenser and other AC parts and had it re-gassed. Recent jobs include replacing front wishbones, bushes & balljoints and towards the end of last year the water pump, coolant, thermostat housing and all belts. Passed MOT with no advisories last week and is in excellent condition underneath, I always have a look when it's on the ramp. No wheel arch rust as it common on these. All receipts for work done and some previous service history.
Runs perfectly, would drive it anywhere. Really smooth, powerful and effortless to drive. No rear badging so it really surprises people when an old estate car with a dog in the back leaves them for dead! Doesn't look like a 2.8L with nigh on 200bhp
Bad points: body has plenty of minor scratches and car park dings, and bonnet paint is a bit rough close up like something was spilt on it at some point. Couple of small bubbles under the paint on the tailgate. Few stone chips. Not terrible, and very presentable for the age of the car, but no show winner. Mechanically spot on, drives fantastically and I've never really worried where I park it so it's been everywhere.
Also, only has one fob for remote locking, though does have spare key for manual unlocking.
Summer wheel pic:
Winter wheel pic (not this winter!):
Interior:
Value wise, bearing in mind the recent work done, new winter tyres and spare sets of wheels, I'd hope about £1,750? As above though, rather swap for something small that will suit my wife's new job better, cash either way if required. PM me if you've anything suitable.
Cheers
Stu
