Just browsing a facebook page called Horncastle Memories, not many of you will know where that is, but its a market town in Lincolnshire where I grew up. I was going through the pics and I just happened to save one or 2 I thought some of you might appreciate... Looks like an early celica and a thames van?? 1959 French & English Sports car believed to be made in horncastle and based on an Austin 7 Mini pickup Early bin lorry, in the days when binmen actually carried the bins and didn't moan if the lid didn't shut properly! Humber Sceptre?

The van in the first pic is a Bedford CA,the bin wagon is a Shelvoke and Drury (I think) class pictures btw

Looks like a Chevrolet badge on the grille of the pre-war baker's van, something around abouts '30 or '31 I reckon.

hillman minx i think, driving thru the high st,,i remember those dustcarts!!showing how old i am! our dustman used to throw ou metal dustbin over his shoulder and walk down the close with it an empty it and walk back with it, they wouldnt do that anymore, wont walk up our drive now if we forget to stick it out
