155/15 FIRESTONE 560s go well on a space saver rim and are tall too As i work for Pirelli as a tyre builder /curer etc i have often wondered why they make spacesavers to be so curse word as it would be easy enough to make the tyre the same way as the rest ,never managed to get an answer yet though off any of the boss types Hi do you get the chance to buy any of the DA (Defective appearance) ones? Got offered a load years ago but haven't had anymore since

I was always told it was because of the size difference to the normal wheels, I had a car, can't remember what now, that had a normal 15inch steel wheel as a spare to it's normal 17 inch alloys, that steel wheel had the space saver stickers 50KPH etc on it, its all because a car would lose control easily with the odd wheel, not tyre safety,

Have you LOOKED at the tread pattern on the sodding things? The Pirelli ones is just a big P repeated all the way round. Great for water dispersal I'm sure.. Also, they are stamped as temporary use only. How much more notice d'ya want

Spacesavers don't look like they will do the job, especially as most only seem to have 3mm of tread when new, The other question stemming from this is why are small narrow tires so kin expensive the obvious answer is low volume against production costs, certainly not material costs.
