Basically, whats the best stuff to let glass run smoother on rubber? My MX5's window gets stiff on the last inch of travel before closing. I'm guessing the rubbers within the guide are drying out, but is there an old wives trick for something i can lubricate it with that will let it move better, but not end up with greasy streaks all over the glass every time?
What works for you guys?

Better to check the cables or quadrants are not running dry before salthering the runners in cack that will forever end up on the glass. Take the panel off and check/lube the working parts of the lift mech first. 9/10 at work when I'm asked to 'lube the window guides, it's sticky' it's actually cables beginning to rust and needing lubrication.

I have used silicone brake fluid in the past after someone suggested it to me. A quick squirt of normal silicone spray will help but it doesn't last so long.

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll have a look at the runners first then, as I'll be doing the door speakers shortly.
Cheers!

Graphite? (a pencil).
I've had the same a few times, I thought it was down to worn mountings, warping the whole mechanism.

Use a flat blade screw driver to get all the grime and moss out and stretch the channel open slightly them a small amount of Vaseline worked into the channel using a cotton bud that way you don't get any on the glass.
