Hello again, long time no speak.
I have a double din head unit that I removed from my car as it was very glitchy and drained the car battery at one stage.
Now, after following some instructions online I have managed to power it up in the house using a old pc psu and a pair of speakers from a broken CD player but need ideas for a case to hold it all together.
What do you reckon would be a cool case?

Cool boxes are popular for sounds in the US for those floating parties they have. Ideas in Cooler and Non-Cooler radios herePersonally, I'd just use MDF.

Just remembered I have a old scalextric transformer model C918 , does anyone know can i use this to power the head unit? It says Output 12v===11va on the top.
Where I have put '===' above on the transformer it's a solid line over 3 dashes bbut that symbol isn't on my keyboard.

Well, I have found out I can't use the scalextric transformer so it will stay on the PC psu. I have added 2 more speakers today and managed to get the DVD playing function working by connecting one of the units wires to a ground wire on the psu. I have also successfully connected my Mobile phone via the Bluetooth built in connection as well so can make and receive phone calls.
Just stuck on a case for it. I have seen 50 cal ammo boxes on a certain auction site but think I am going to go down the mdf box route and either paint or carpet it. Hoping I can find some off cuts on my travels to keep the costs down.

I think cantilever toolbox is a winning idea. Make sure you put some wood in whichever compartment the speakers are in to dampen the tinniness
