BMW M44 1.9 16v engine and gearbox from a 1997 318iS e36 coupe.
This was taken from a track car project that I never got around to doing. I got the car with a split header tank, replaced it then drove the car 40 miles to my unit where it sat for a couple of years! During the drive the engine and gearbox behaved absolutely fine - no smoke or noise, no overheating, pulled nicely and the gearchanges felt good. That was the only time I drove the car - I figured that any problems would rear their head over a 40 mile journey, so I was quite happy to use the engine and 'box.
The car had done 112k miles. When we took the engine out we took out the whole loom, ECU and key, etc. It comes with all ancillaries, and exhaust manifold. The plastic thermostat housing broke during removal, but these are cheap to buy and easy to replace.
Engine and 'box are located near Hinckley, Leicestershire. I am located in Lancashire, but we can work out the logistics for a sale I'm sure.
£120.
