Hi all,
i have a set of multi leaf mk1 escort springs, but the centre bolts on them have sheared. i cant seem to find any for love nor money.
they are the bolts that go through the leaves, then there is a locating stud on one end that i believe locates in the bracket on the rear axle?
can anyone shed any light on this for me please? i want to get these springs fitted asap, but cant do it without these bolts!
cheers,
~Lee

Couldn't you simply use an Allen bolt ? Another idea is put a suitable bolt in a drill and then grind the hex down to the required dia with angle grinder. You'd then have to use Mole or similar wrench to grip whilst tightening and maybe dress any marks they leave with a file.

you mean the bolt that holds the spring leaves together, I changed the bolt for an allen bolt, the head was the right size to locate in the spring/shock pad, or in lowering blocks, you might have luck finding some springs on here if you want to replace them, www.oldskoolford.co.uk/ipb/index.php?/page/index.htmlFailing that you can go to single leaf springs that are easy to find, I think Raldes sell them, but do tend to lift the rear up because they are uprated for rallying but not de arched.

it is mate i managed to get hold of these mk1s for nowt, so would prefer to use them lol. the main problem is that i currently have single leaf springs, and i think they have been decambered at some point, so i have about 3/4" of travel before I'm on the stops, and the springs actually look inverted cheers for the help!
