Another little job to tick off my list... The spoiler after I stuck it down had a gap between the plastic and the bootlid. Never really bothered me until yesterday when loads of leafs and tree bits got stuck in the gap! Went and bought some black silicone, masked off the gap (frog tape. Brilliant stuff) and smoothed it on. Might give it a second run later but thatll do. Had enough of collecting samples.

So, original plan was to go to Banzai at crail, but after getting up and seeing torrential rain, I decided I was too lazy for that so went to the Crathes vintage car and bike rally, which was actually and ace day apart from the weather! Got parked in the event stand next to this standard mx5 with only 27k on the clock. Thought I looked right low, munching the grass, until I moved next to this.... Moar lows Was a pretty good turnout though considering the weather. Most of the cars there were clearly used quite frequently, so had their fair share of dodgy paint etc. but its nice seeing older cars being used lik they should be, especially the pre 1930s ones!

After doing up the engine bay the exhaust heat shield was annoying me: So I painted it black All the bolts came out fine apart from the bottom one. Seriously awkward to get to and it was stuck solid and rounded. After 2 hours of failed attempts the bracket just ended up snapping off the manifold. Good enough for me Luckily you can't see it so I don't mind. Then changed my plate. Got fed up of the 13x8 screwed into the bumper because it was collecting loads of curse word behind it. Didnt want to put it on a bracket on the towing eye like most mx5s ive seen so went stick on. Added bonus of it looking retro and covering the hairlines in the bumper! Wasn't sure to begin with but its grown on me.
