Morning all!
i have a bit of a question, and have searched high and low to no avail, so i thought i would see if any of the gurus over here can help?
i have a few english diffs for my Rickman ranger for classic trials. the two main ones being a 4.1:1 (spare) and a 4.44:1 going in the car soon.
the problem i have is that i had the 4.44 rebuilt properly, but have now discovered that it has a small (mk1?) flange wheres the 4.1 is a large flange (mk2?) The propshaft is also the larger flange type.
i'm loathe to rebuild the 4.44 again to change the flange, and don't fancy risking changing the flange over myself and wrecking it mid trial.
so, i had a thought about rotating the propshaft through 22.5 degrees, and then drilling the larger flange to accept the smaller flange on the diff.
as all of this is still attached to the car at present, i cant get to the prop flange to see if this is possible
has anyone heard of this being done before? if possible, it would be the best of both worlds for me, as all of my diffs would then fit
any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. as always, this is being done on a tight budget, so the cheaper the suggestions the better lol
many thanks all,
Lee
