I've been doing some filler repairs on my viva and I have used a 2 pack high build primer rolled on and then sanded
when I come to spray my matt black acrylic aerosol can over it seems to melt the primer underneath
I can get round this by applying very light coats but I still get a small reaction around the primer edges sometimes
it looks like I need Upol Barcoat Sealer which is a quick drying isolator that Prevents lifting and bleeding of existing paint film
but Barcoat is sold in 1 litre cans and needs a spray gun, I only need to paint small area's and don't really want to use spray gun
is there another product similar to Barcoat that comes in a spray can?

as above stick to the manufactures directions, Could be the aerosol reacting with previously applied paint that's been cut into, I definitely wouldn't apply it with a rolled though, and did you stir/mix it well before applying, and let it dry between coats You could hit the area with some p120 go an extra few inches beyond the primer and reacted area, then apply afew more coats lightly, Spray gun is best but a brush would be better then a roller, and pre-clean. Isolator is a last resort as it can cause problems if it needs doing again, In the ten years I've been in the trade only seen it used once, hope It helps you

2k primer and 1k aerosol - probably incompattable paints. Seal the primer first then paint to avoid the reaction. Or use a waterbase paint but you will need a gun....

Thanks for reply's my problem seems to be the matt black spray paint I used to spray the whole car a couple of years ago in incompatible with most paints
the matt black I used is carplan, I have tried other makes of matt black spray and they don't react but I have to use carplan for the colour match
as I say the paint seems to melt the primer underneath but when it dry's I can just sand and repaint and eventually after a couple of coats I get no reaction
it just makes the job longer
I just thought there might be a product in spray can form that would provide a barrier between the 2k high build primer and matt black top coat
eventually the car will get a bare metal respray but I'm not at that stage yet which is why I'm messing with spray cans
