Hi all
Well thanks to being self employed and starting a new contract recently that sees me doing a 147 miles commute each day I have found myself buying a much newer motorbike to cope and as such it's time to sell my 1987 Mercedes 560 SEC.
Firstly the history of this car, it's first owner was King Hussein of Jordan, all the history backs this up and even has a service book that has the second service stamp done in Monaco by SAMGF, I have contact them and have a dealer supplied boot badge and plate surround. The majority of its life this car history all relates to the jordan embassy and was purchased at Park Royal.
The body is in great condition generally and polishes up very well, the car received a paint job about a year or so ago and it's not perfect but it better than most SEC's I've seen for sensible money. This is a Gen 2 car so has the much better bumpers and no fluted side panels. The front grill is perfect as are all the light lenses.
Brand new in the box Kamei rubber boot spoiler was sourced from Australia and is fitted to the rear boot lid, this spoiler is quite unique and really gives the car a retro cool old school look.
The exterior is finished off with Avez A wheels, original 80's Avez with a staggered fitment. 8.5" x 17" fronts with ultra rare 10"x 17" rear wheels, they really give the car a mean look. The wheels are fitted with BRAND NEW Pirelli P-Zero tyres which have only been used for about 300 miles.
Suspension is fitted with lowered springs which were fitted in November and give the car a great stance which really makes the car stand out. While I was fitting these I noticed some of the bushes were worn and as such found a set of NoS front suspension units. With these fitted every front bush has been replaced including the notoriously expensive to change castor rod bushes, I also bought every rod and ball joint for the steering so the entire front has been replaced. The car was then taken to elite for a fully 4 wheel alignment.
The engine runs some perfect you really have to hear and drive it to fully appreciate how smooth and perfect the engine is. Full services and starts on the button everytime, the only mods are a K&N air filter and I have had the four huge middle exhaust boxes removed. These boxes weigh a ton and the exhaust is perfect, when on no revs or cruising at a constant speed you wouldn't know it had been changed but on throttle it sound glorious, not silly loud like some more old school muscle car. The only thing that can better the engine is the silky smooth auto gearbox, no shunting and changes up perfectly.
The interior is quite rare as well, black leather with black trim and carpets with walnut capping. The bolster on the drivers seat has a hole and is the only part of the interior that requires attention. At the asking I will include the 1980's original AMG white dialled 300kph dash cluster, these are seriously rare and sort after. I will also include an original 80's AMG black leather steering wheel, some stitching has come away but these again are mega rare and sort after. Further to this I will include the original steering wheel and UK dash cluster. I've spent ages getting all the dash light and item working and have succeeded, seat belt butler work as do all windows and lights. The only part that doesn't work is the sunroof but most of these car have the same fault, it's very well known.
The original AMG parts, wheels and spoiler are worth approximate £2000 alone on this fantastic V8 80's muscle car, with all the suspension with it would cost a fortunate to get to this point and the car is ready for another 100,000 miles.
