Cant really go wrong for £150!
I and probably many others had a Metro as a 1st car, 1982 1.0HLE. The HLE was the highest spec 1.0 with such luxuries as a 1 speaker stereo, halogen headlights and an extra 2 bhp.
Happy days......

HA I do get quite a lot of people coming up to me and telling me stories of metros they had haha. I'm surprised how much attention it get. just as much as the minis easy. The good old 1 speaker stereo haha. Mines still got its original speakers in which will be coming out shortly. Got another small update to write up.

Right I wanna get the under side all sealed up and protected so pick up these to cans the other day. Need to see if I can borrow my mates ramp and get it on there to do that. Cheap pair of speakers to go in the back as the mounts were there but being a basic model it didn't come with rear speakers. also this turned up which means if you look closely i also pinched the 8 ball knob out my clubby and stuck that in haha, I would like to find a knob to match the steering wheel really. Only a small update so thats it for now

The wheels look great. How much are the pinstripes costing you? I have a set of Wellers which will need new stickers after painting.

Cheers guys, I gotta say I do love the wheels, came out better then I thought, not sure as of yet. I don't think my hands are steady enough to stick them on so I will get him to do them. If you fancy having a crack you're self i'm sure he can just send you the kit, not that expensive really.

Right well the metty passed his MOT first time with 4 easy advisories which was a result, As it did so well I bought it a present. Looks pretty smart on there I think, Also ordered a custom made maniflow full system which I am picking up from them at combe, plan on buying a few other bits while at combe to make a stage one kit to give it a bit more go. After that that is pretty much all I want to do with it for the time being until I can afford to get it repainted.

Not updated in a while! Done a few bits and bobs to it. Sills were looking tatty so gave them a wire brush and a coat of stone chip which tidied the car up. Ordered a can of paint for the arch as well. Took it to Castle Combe Mini Day While there I picked up my new exhaust from maniflow. Then the next day went to the Oh So Retro show ross got a good rolling shot on the way there. Didn't miss a beat the whole weekend. With Combe and the OhSoRetro show it did a good 400 miles that weekend. I have now got the new exhaust on. Sounds alright Anyway thats pretty much it, unless I can find a MG metro spoiler I don't really have any other plans for it at the moment, just to use it and keep it on the road, I do wanna get on top of the body work before it get to bad so will try and get on my mates ramp and stone chip it soon, gonna use it as it is for the next summer and maybe get it repainted the next winter as the paints not great on it, Cheers

Love it bar a few things, but that's down to personal opinion. When you're done with it, I'd be very very interested in buying it*. *Providing it came with the original bits & bobs. Nath.

Lovely little cars the Metro especially the later ones.
I can remember whizzing around in a mates mums Metro when I was a teenager.
Handling was amazing.
Even if it was Brown!

Cheers guys! Wont be for sale anytime soon, I kept the standard bits, Its only really the steering wheel and the gear know, original wheels can't go back on it as you can't get tyres for them anymore, If I ever out it back to standard I'll get old of some mk1 metro wheels as they take normal tyres, But for now its a nice cheap little toy.

Not updated in a while, Need to sort out the pics as some have gone missing for some reason. Not done a lot to the tro apart from keep it on the road, The rear hydrolytic hose split causing the car to sink, New pipe sorted it, had an issue finding a pump so I ended up buying one. Bit of an expense but at least I have one now. Anyway to it to Wheels Day today so heres a cheeky pic

Rolled the rear aches today so I could drop the rear down a bit more. Sits nice now. Been tagged in a few other pics from wheels day so may as well stick them in here. I also won some new wheels on eBay There wellers the same size as the ones on there but are the motorsport type so holes are round rather then triangle, quite rare these done come up for sale very much hoping the offset is the same as the others, Anyway thats about it for now,

Prefer the new wheels. You keeping them white? Thats the plan, I'm gonna fit them as they are and test the offset and make sure they fit alright, all being well I'll then give them a refurb
