Welcome to the sale of my Mk1 Golf. I bought this 6months ago with MOT and the intensions of using it daily. I was also running a Mk2 Jetta at the time so this has sat untouched, I sold that and bought an MX5 the day after so I have realised I'm never going to get round to using it. Plus the fact I can now walk to work!
It's a 1983 GL, originally a 1.5 auto, still down on the logbook as that, on 89k miles, solid as a rock underneath.
Here's the spec-
It's fitted with a TSR built 2.0 8v engine, originally built in 2004 for a whopping sum of £1200. It includes a pack C big valve head, with a g60 head gasket. Piper 282 camshaft and a piper cam pulley too. Similar spec'd cars claim 150bhp.
It's running a 1.8 16v clutch with a TSR quick shift
A mk2 golf radiator
High temp leads
Recent Cam Belt and Tensioner
KN Panel Filter
Breather block off kit
Digi injection
4into1 Manifold with a full straight through Stainless exhaust(sounds the tits)
Vw2 front brakes
Recent rear brake shoes
JOM coilovers
7.5&8.5 banded steel wheels with g60 centre caps and good tyres worth £350 alone
During my ownership Ive fitted a very rare original BBS rear spoiler and an import size rear plate, Refurbed the rear badges, changed the coolant and a leaky head flange.
No MOT or Tax, it doesn't need much for an MOT, a few wiring niggles, bassically the temp and oil lights flash constantly, although i assure you there is nothing wrong. The front tracking sorting (I raised the suspension abit), brakes going over due to it being sat, they don't need replacing just checking over. The only other thing really is the gear selector needs realigning, it's gets into gear but sometimes finding first takes a few attempts, of your fimiliar with VWs you'll know it's quite a common thing.
The paint isn't the greatest, its been sanded down in a couple of areas, but it's 31 years old. As pictured, there is a dent in the O/S wing and sill caused by the PO. No radio.
MOT'd and better paint it'll be a 2.5k/3k car!
