HELP... advice please, when removing my old Track Rod Ends they were very rusted so l had to drill them out, this has led to the hole now being 2 big for the new replacement Track Rod Thread (Yes they are the correct parts) The hole also has to be tapered, i have been told to weld up the hole and re-drill them :/ I was wondering could l weld in some sort of sleeve (pipe) to form a new hole.?? These parts are very rare for my Skoda so finding another pair will be very difficult, any advice much appreciated

You could but you would only be able to weld the front face which wouldn't be as strong as just filling the hole with weld and drilling and tapping.

Depending on level of damage, and availability of parts, would it be possible to go up a size of tre and ream to suit ? Or convert to rose joints. It may be possible to make an adaptor similar to the ones used on beetle ball joints Ttfn Glenn
