Funny thread actually made me lol. Dogging stickers, how handy "On A Mission" was the olden-days window sticker that used to upset me the most... Funny how one years' achingly cool and trend becomes next years' cringe-worthy fashion disaster. Mind you, tastes and attitudes change. After all, this kind of sloganeering was once considered acceptable; ...but go into your shoe repairers/key cutters shop now and ask the burly bloke with the oil-stained leather apron and the forearms like Popeye on a steroid binge for some cock and see how many teeth you come out with at the end of the experience

Does anyone remember the rear window back flash that used to say stuff like "The Astra Touch" ?, really cringingly, hideously cheesy. You mean this ? - strictly make /model 99% of the time , never saw "Touch back flash " -although does sound familiar rear window back flashThe stickers Markgenesis remembers came a bit later than those red backflash stickers I think. More an early nineties thing - if I remember correctly the car name was in a kind of joined-up script in red, with the rest of the lettering in white. I remember seeing all sorts of versions - "The GTI touch", "The Escort touch", etc. Can't find anything on the internet about them though.

The ones that stick in my mind from "back in the day" are "on a mission", "my other car is a porsche" and every xr3 or rs2000 always sported an oakley sticker across the back window. Must admit I did have a fat willies one in my beetle back in '87

'The Jimmy Saville Touch' was popular in the 70's and 80's.
'On a mission' on the front windscreen and 'mission aborted - gone for a spliff' on the rear window. Genius.
I recently had an idea for covering my van bumpers with splats, not sure it'll look very good though.

'The Jimmy Saville Touch' was popular in the 70's and 80's. So to speak. How about the huge amount of people being "Nova-taken"?

The one I always found amusing was a massive Alpine, Sony, Pioneer etc across the back window when a quick glance at the dashboard would reveal a cheapo market stall head unit. Not that I was at all jealous of people who could actually afford a car in 1994.

Do you think people will look on sticker bombing in the same way in years to come? (i.e. of it's time/cheesy and a bad idea?) Most people already do and always did

Back in the early 90's there was a guy doing the rounds of the car shows flogging 'ON A MISSION' 'SAFE AS FU*K' and other such niceties. In fact he produced some natty brochures with his wares inside, the photography for which was done at Shakey in late 1993. I know, because I appeared in it.In fact my 'dead Elvis' avatar was originally one of his creations! So if you've got an old graphics brochure with a picture of three long haired greboes sat on the back bumper of a T-plated VW Bay van, you've got a picture of Damaged aged 29.

I couldn't buy this one quick enough when I spotted it at an autojumble.

The one's that do my nut are those condescending pricks, that have things like 'small person on board', 'bump on board' or 'mums taxi', tossers

I'd love one of those 'KEEP YOur distance' triangle ones, but I found originally there was no place to stick it without it looking misplaced.

I recently dug out several sheets of max power stickers from the front of the magazines (mags long gone but stickers survived)
all super naff and not quite so bad they are good unfortunately
I used to have a big world dance transfer on my metro back window (shared with my mum) back in like 94 - she got some funny looks from the ma2 flying jacketed ravers round Dartford way
