This was previously owned by a retro rides member, this is a generic advert I have written up for other forums I am on, some things are obvious and it is some what of a generic write up, but here it is.
Yesterday I sold my daily and received this in part exchange so here it is up for sale.
Quick run down on the car.
First registered 25th may 1995

As you will be able to tell pretty quickly from the photos this example has been slightly modified in a rather tasteful and subtle manor.
Firstly, and probably most importantly is the motor. This car is fitted with a C16XE 1.6 8V, this car started out as a 1.2 8V, the conversion is a direct bolt in swap. As you will be able to see from the photos it is very OEM and doesn't look abnormal in any way.
The engine drives extremely well, starts on the button, runs faultlessly,,box does not crunch in any way, very smooth and a very responsive and well carried out conversion.
The car is also running Spax Krypton coilovers, these are extremely expensive new (currently £449 on spax web site with a discount!). These are height and dampening adjustable, they currently appear to have a lot of down adjustment left in them and they also have a fair amount there to raise them. These do not knock bang, make any funny noises or feel "vague" on the road.
The car also has a sportex exhaust system with Decat, not to loud or ghastly, sounds pretty nice, I got followed by an officer of the law last night and he was not interested at all.
Astra 4 spokes with good tyres.
As with every car it has some bad points, there are the following
- Bodywork is not the best, it has a fair collection of parking dings and a kind individual has keyed the passengers door, this has been there for a fair few years apparently, touch up pen would drastically improve it, a replacement door would be the best way of sorting it. I have tried to show the worst of it in the photos.
- Engine temperature sender has failed, this will be replaced prior to the sale of the car.
- This is a pre-facelift car, so no central locking, no electric windows and no power steering, that said the steering does feel pretty light (in comparison to my classics anyway)
All in all a nice, solid, reliable little run around or first car.

I am not open to offers, mainly because I feel this is already priced very well. Ideal little track car, second car, first car.
