While searching for something completely different, I came across mention of this event, which just happens to be on my birthday (10th August). Has anyone been to the previous shows, is it a decent event?

Yes, it's worth it (IMO). Large show with plenty of vehicles. In fact, you have to prebook, or you're parking in the general population car park. Quite a big auto jumble too. Plus there's the 'antiques lane' for the missus to browse through.

I've been doing this show for a few years now and your Granada will be fine, make sure your send you SAE to Battlesbridge before hand for the show tickets or else you won't be able to display though.
It's a excellent show and has a really good auto jumble.

Really? It looks pretty good from a distance, but there's a few scrapes and scratches (especially on the bumpers). I thought they'd only want super-smart cars?

I've been to a lot of shows at Battlesbridge in the past, although not specifically this event, really nice friendly events in general, lovely place, good organisation and a nice bunch of people. Have fun  |

as long as its booked in they don't mind.its not a concourse only show and thats why i like it.id rather look at a car built by someone in their garden than one thats just been built to spec by a garage. theres always been a massive turn out when ive been and unless it rains,people don't try clearing off at midday either.i think its one of the best shows of the year but thats just my opinion though.
Retro ford mag described it as "the biggest small show" or something like that. great atmosphere there too. only prob was that it clashed with ford fair i believe but ive been told the dates are different for the shows this year. I'm planning on dragging my barge to it this year,not got there since 2011.....

it's gone up to £30 from £25 for trade stands, annoying in a way as the grass is the same,field is the same, area you pay for is the same size, all entries are emailed (so they said last year) the owner made his fortune years ago so no huge payout in stamps, and he is still asking as much support because of the conflict he is having with the council and the locals.
Anyway, it is a good show, i will be doing a stand come rain or shine.Well worth a visit.
