I'm just wondering if anyone who works in a body shop could give me a rough idea how much it would be to put golf on a jig , fit a new inner wing/chassis rail , front panel , outer wing and paint -[ paint to resonable standard ] .The front panel and wing are off , but the inner wing is still there . Base on parts supplied.
I don't have clue .Would it be a grand , 1500 , 2000 ? Any idea ?

No , inner wing complete with integral rail which joins under the foot well. Its just the front wing and rail and bent so fairly east to just take it off as thats the only thing left . Its a potential car I'm buying , i want to know if it would make economic sense to do .

If your handy with a mig and grinder and spot weld drill bits then its easily enough done by yourself but just time consuming ,and needs a methodical approach The fact its so time consuming may mean labour charges in a garage will be ridiculous for what the cars worth People may flame me here but I've replaced complete inners before with no jig but a carefully made jig/brace and lots of measurements to keep it all square We're abouts are you as may be some local people in the trade that can spare a few hours here and there maybe ??

Its a golf gti mk1 , damaged years ago and been stored in a barn for 15+ years .Good condition otherwise but front n/s damage .It would need a going on a jig to get the correct fit as the leg is bent already . Just want a idea .Surely it cant take more than a day to get it off if everything else is gone [ wing , bonnet , front panel , engine/box].

I'd take it on if you have the time. It's all unseen bits, so if you can weld OK, it doesn't have to be immensely tidy and you can cover it with underseal once it's done.
