No the barn is far from ideal. It is dry (to an extent) and has power and light but it has a bare dirt floor and is very very very dusty. If you drop a bolt its lost forever and I come home feeling like I have eaten a mouth full of dirt. The problem is we live in a new build flat and there is only one allocated space, finding a decent lock up for sensible cash is a joke: I'm paying through the ass for that barn space as it is. Anyways...... Master cylinder rebuild kit from www.biggred.co.uk brm1167 is part number £17 . Or from eBay £10 .....http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=171484554147 I got mine from eBay but took about 14 days to arrive. Pretty poor. I would pay the extra £7 and buy from big red

rear arch repair panels have arrived......... sadly two driver side ones arrived from germany rather than a left and right. The seller was quick to sort this out though and a replacement is now on its way

Nice car. Are you keeping it white or spraying it a different colour?

Staying white I think. Falling out of love with it rapidly. Body parts/trim are so hideously expensive for these cars. £900 for a front wing, about £150 each for side window rubbers if and when Bmw actually have them in stock, £300 for front bumper chrome trims etc!
Il do a ford next time!

Yesterday was body shop day. Drove the car more than a foot for first time since owning it, only a few hundred yards but was ace! So then onto the truck and off to the body shop. Removed the recaros too to give them a clean up

When I bought my 635 the leather recaros had suffered quite aslot of sun bleaching over the years. after a few hours and a number of gliptone liquid leather dyes and products they are nearly looking like new! 1 more coat and they are done. just need to get a little bit of damaged stitching on the driver seat repaired. before after

Gt12 cleaner followed by dye. Got the cleaner, conditioner and 500ml of custom mixed dye from bespokeleathering.com
Was about £60 delivered as I recall. Seats do look like new now though. Gotta wait a few months now to condition them.

Very happy to see an update on this! I complete get where you are coming from getting rid of the trim, when I stripped the chrome off the Dolomite for paint prep the other week I was amazed by the difference. The shape of the car seemed to be clearer and less fussy. Ian Callum's MK2 has had similar treatment: Bring on the paint! James

Well the longest re spray in history continues. It's now 7 months since it was dropped off at the first bodyshop. Now bear in mind I had removed all trim/bumpers/lights etc beforehand.... Anyways enough of me bitching. It's now painted......
