I've changed the alloys on my Marlin Roadster for MGF steel spare wheels as they are more fitting with the style of the car. Due to the suspension of the Marina base the tyre JUST touches - as expected. So now it's fit spacers to get sufficient clearance (along with larger dia Freelander studs) but I'm not sure what size to get. So question is therefore what clearance is recommended between a tyre and suspension components ? Is 10mm sufficient or should I go to 25mm etc ?
Thanks.

I assume its catching on the kingpin? Aslong as it doesn't move relative to the wheel (don't think it does iirc) you can run as little clearance as needed. Ive got a fag paper between the coilover ajusters and wheel on the Granada and unless I bend the wheel it cant hit it.

Hi, 10mm should be enough, provided that the stub axle doesn't flex too much.

First check your wheelbearings are properly adjusted so there's no play at the wheel rim (ask me how I know this is important ) If the joints etc are ok and everything is adjusted properly then I'd be happy to run 10mm. Best check the paint on the struts / kingpin is ok - and check again after a gentle run around the block - and again after some hard cornering. If the paint is scrubbed by the tyre you need to do something - if it's unmarked you're good to go! I normally use /80 profile tyres and get a lot of sidewall flex. If you have /70 or lower the gap shouldn't change much when it's moving.
