Sure that somebody here will have some info on this.Transplanting an 1800 mazda engine/box into something else.In terms of the engine harness is there a resource on what needs retaining and what can be disposed of? If not I'll chase through and keep working through the wires.
Many thanks.

Anything non-engine should be able to be removed, in theory. I might have a wiring diagram I can send you if it's any help. Just PM your address and what year the car is and I'll make sure it's the right one. This is pretty much everything I've got.

I just bought a Haynes manual for an mx5 off eBay. There's simple wiring diagrams in that, and it's good because they're separated into the separate sections (alternator and charger, cooling system, dash instruments, etc...) depends what car you're putting the lump into as well...? Whether it's easier to try and merge two separate wiring looms together, or just use an mx5 loom for everything? That's what I'm doing, the car I'm putting it in has less things than an mx5 (electrically speaking) so I just don't use everything on the mx5 loom... But I can still use it's fuse box and other stuff
also so depends how you plan to run the engine? If you use something like mega squirt then it might be just as easier if not easier to make your own loom... And a mega squirt ecu doesn't need all the sensors the standard mx5 ecu does!!!!!
