i've got a Rickman ranger fitted with a Pinto 2L and MT75 gearbox. I read somewhere (now can't find it) that the MT75 has a different pedal travel due to the bearing release lever. If the Pinto and MT75 came from a transit why is this different and how can it be resolved.
The Type 9 doesn't have the problem and an Escort pedal box. I am wondering if the clutch or release arm fitted is different from what should be fitted with a Pinto and MT75.
I now know of a Type 9 that I am thinking of fitting but would like to know why there is this difference. Alternatively I could fit an auto C3 but I am still wary of bellhousing/engine differences.
thanks

The MT75 came with low and hight lift clutches that had differant bearings and ratchets if your is wrong you could try the other type ? pintos only came with MT75's on the treansit so maybe a car would offer the other type you need ? if fitting the type 9 i'd use the arm and realease bearing that comes with it to avoid pedal clearance issues. There will be somone who knows sierra better alomng soon to confirm the differences if not have a gander on the sierra owners forum i know the issue caused a few headaches in the past on there ? If your MT was from a transit it would have a huge B/H and an adapter plate on the engine block to mount the larger B/H to as all transits used the diesel box (apaprt from the twincam that used a car type gearbox with smaller B/H and no plate) hense the larger B/H if it doesn't have the plate it will be car gearbox.

Thanks. I may have found a type 9 and so that's what I'll put in. But I need to source a propshaft.
