Got Neg? This was gorgeous. I nearly had an accident when I saw it there. Haven't seen one on the road in this country for nearly 20 years. My baby... Actually I was going to take the Volvo 164, but it's got a warped brake disc at the moment and I didn't fancy negotiating wet back roads with dodgy brakes. I probably used 50% less petrol in the Triumph anyway. I agree with you about the roads - apart from the suspension-killing state of some of them, they were so narrow that whenever something was coming the other way both drivers had to practically drive into the hedge - not a big problem with a scruffy old Triumph 1300, but with tens of grands' worth of MG TA or Ferrari 348 it's a bit of a different matter. It was a good day out though, despite the weather, and there was a very impressive turnout of cars, both in number, quality and variety, which is unusual when the weather is like it was today.

I've been on a run a few years ago where that brown R5 also attended, one of the SCCON events in June/July. Looks like you had some very nice stuff there.
Whereabouts did you go from/to? I stayed at home all day....

The run was from the Lighthouse at Walcott over to the Thurston museum, via pretty much every back lane and farm track in north Norfolk.

Wuvvum, did you get caught out by that bl00dy road between Reedham and Cantley? I had to stop and check I hadn't smashed the sump on either the large crease in the road or the pointy hump-back bridge - mind you, doing the Acle rollercoaster under the bypass was fun!

supercharger on an 850, quite a common mod nowadays, well about as common as slapping a supercharger on something can be. think that mini was featured a while ago, uses an aston martin charger iirc

I didn't actually, although it was quite a bump. My mate with the Morris Minor though (the bright red one with the white stripe) grounded his sump out along that stretch, and I suspect some of the lower-slung cars probably ran into a bit of trouble along there...

He shut up after I mentioned I was building a modded TR7 engine to put into the GT, and the fact I'd fitted an MGB axle and rebuilt the body etc, etc, etc....It's one thing I've learnt over the years is that before flapping the lips, find out what the other person is capable of. You don't look such a pillock then.......
