Ford Taunus/Mk 3 Cortina Polybush question....

My son and i are in the process of restoring his 1972 Ford Taunus and amongst other things we want to upgrade the front and rear axles.

The chassis is MK3 Cortina and i´m not sure what polybushes to buy, there are so many different ones on the market and we don´t want to end with rubbish that only looks good in the packaging and will need replacing after a couple of years.

It´ll be getting a V6 and one or two other goodies so any ideas where to we can get some decent ones, preferably a whole set?

Nice project you have there. Many Cortina/Taunus owners would say not to polybush these car they're designed to flex to a certain degree & you can end up fracturing the chassis. The only one people recommend polybushing is the rear axle to top mount bushes (void bush). A good set of standard bushes with slightly uprated springs & shocks will transform handling Have a look on www.buysellcortina.co.uk/home.htm for more info as this subject has been covered a few time on there.

Springs and shocks are on the shopping list so we´re alright there, i´ll get myself clued up on the bushes and let you know how we get on,
