Driving to work today and for no reason it just stopped, engine cut out. Starter turns over a bit faster now but wont start. Was on my own so couldnt check too much so left it and will return later today. anyone got any ideas ?. was running fine with no missfire got plenty of fuel. what would make it turn over faster now but not fire up? are these cam belt or chain ??

Faster turning of the starter = lack of mechanical resistance. You've either snapped a cambelt or lost compression.

The cg10/13 engine from the k11 bolts straight onto the k10 gearbox, just need a preface lift cg10 flywheel and redo the driver side engine mount Either way, really really easy to work on these micras

thanks to everyone for the advise, looks like there is no point in just replacing the belt and hope for the best then lol. might try to look for a second hand head then do the work as its in not bad nick and it is taxed and tested

Before jumping to conclusions take the rocker cover off and turn the engine over. Do the rockers/cam move? Did the timing mark for tdc and see if the number one cylinders valves are being actuated at the right time.
