Yip i'll have one. Not sure about the center exhaust though, maybe twin side pipes would be more fitting, Still very nice though.

Saw this yesterday. The workshop where it was built is directly opposite our own.
As well as Ian Callum, John Surtees and Norman Dewis were there for the grand launch.

I'm a bit 50/50 on this car to be honest but on the whole a really nice machine has been created here... Whereas I think the back bumper fits in really well there is something about that front bumper that jars just a tad. Having said that, I'm not a car designer so what do I know...?!
A classic refined? The original worked just fine for me...!

Funny isn't it, I was the other way round - love the way the front bumper sits but not quite sure about the rear! (somehow reminds me of a Rover 75 from the rear, which is odd).

Colour scheme is spot on and the wheels work really well too. I can't help but think this is a bit of coincidental timing that Jags chief designer shows off his own private Jag remake, at the same time as the company is investing heavily in their heritage division. E.g. Finally building the remaining lightweight e types from the promised initial run, buying the worlds largest private classic car collection. Personal project only? Mmm...still a fair stab at it though

Favourite detail for me has to be the spoked wheels converted to three piece splits , fantastic !

Move the steering wheel over, plop in a slush-box (sorry) and park it downstairs. You'd get no complaints from me.

ive got it in my head that the front bumper shouldnt work, but it does, and everything else is perfect. Makes it so much better that theyve gone with wire wheels and just sorted out the stance. Certainly in my 'how it should be done' list.

I'm not sure if I like it or dislike it. Certain aspects don't work from some angles, but do from others...

In the blurb he states "... Whilst maintaining the purity of the car’s form...." Personally, I don't think he has, infact, it becomes more apparent just how important the bumper design and composition was to the overall shape of the Jag. Don't get me wrong, he has done a bloody good job of modifying a classic Jag, it looks mean, clean and up for a fight. The mechanical update was the only thing I would have had done, essentially a 60s Jag inside and out but lowered a bit, updated mechanicals, lowered suspension etc. I still wouldn't kick this one out of my garage tho..

I love its stance, but if it would be my car (which it isn't), It would have 240/340 bumpers and banded steelies. His '32 hot rod, I will take that without any mods .

As nice as the Rod is, totally illegal on UK roads and seriously uncomfortable - Needs fenders at the very least - Will take the modern Mk2 over that anyday.

He runs the rod through the summer....fenderless.....so how's that illegal?
|
|
I then wanted to start cleaning the interior as it stinks of wood (the material not the smell of a boner) best quote ever!
