Apologies for the modern talk, but can anyone help me decipher van gearbox codes? Google has failed so far.
My expired box (Master 2.8T) is a PF1 AA 014. Now, the meagre info I've found suggests the 'AA' is irrelevant, and the other 2 parts probably refer to the fitment and ratios, respectively. I can't find a PF1 014 anywhere, and I'm wondering whether an 012 or 009 would do instead, with just a minor variation in final drive? To add to the confusion, it seems that some later DCi engines also used PF1 boxes, whereas others used PF6s or PKs, and it doesn't seem to depend on age or engine capacity.
Any expert* advice gratefully received (but not "scrap it and buy a transit", that will make me angry and rude)
